The Anika Experience
The owners and designers of the hotel spend too much of their ( some , who don’t do it might say pampered ) lives travelling and staying in four and five star hotels which they generally hate .
They build their Riads from ground up so to Allow modern plumbing and electrics and uncompromised design freedom.
The design concept of the ksar Anika (“Smart palace) was to exclude all the detested aspects of stereotypical international hotels; to delight and amaze the eye at every tum and to provide true five star levels of personal attention carrying on our experience gained from the Dar Anika , our sister Riad ; we want you fell that you are at home and part of an extended family that you never knew you had .
The intention was to add some lightness to the traditional riad design ; a blend of traditional riad architecture with a lighter touch to the room decoration space , ligt , peace , and tranquility in the centre of the souq .
The same approach has been carried over into our terrace restaurant ; Named “ six” it relects our boredom with frozen , vacuum , packed or preserved food .
We have limited each section of the menu to six dishes chosen by our chef after his daily market visit for freshness and seasonal appeal.
Your holiday in Marrakech can be tailored to whatever you want it to be – as peaceful or as action packed as you wish. It is a town of contrasts, allowing relation in total peace or clubbing through to dawn. we can organize tours , from a half day walk around the souq to desert camping . Ballooning and mountain climbing expeditions. We have trustworthy and multilingual guide and taxi drivers with whom we have worked for years.

The owners
The owners are an English/Kuwaiti team led by Chris Gooding who has a day job as an international lawyer working predominantly over the last thirty years in the Middle East. The design and creation of dar and ksar have been labors of love driven by the boredom experienced by owners of waking up in the morning international hotels and having no idea from their surroundings in which country they are.
We have tried to combine the passion of true British “amateurs “with the rigorous professionalism that our combined experiences in project management; aviation engineering and law have taught us.
Every aspect of the design of the fabric aspect of the building has been designed by the owners has been designed by the owners and every piece of furniture and art in the hotel personally designed, mostly by Chris, or to his concept. As such we have an unequalled knowledge of the depth of talent available to designers , professional and amateur , in Marrakech and are happy to share our experience .

Rooms & Suite
The pool view suites have a balcony which can either have a balcony which can either be booked for one suite alone or shared between family or friends travelling together with a price adjustment if shared
We have a further seven suites all decorated to the same standard as the balcony suites. One has a terrace opening onto the pool.
The three superior and four standard rooms are decorated generally to the same high standard as to the suites but are generally smaller although even the standard rooms are still larger than most Riad rooms.

Location: Location, Location, Location, the thre most important factors in real estate worldwide but never more so than in Marrakechi riads . no worries about finding your way home at night no route march from the nearest taxi spot . we are in a quiet corner of the Mellah area of the souq , tucked in against the walls of the Bahia Palace with taxi , and even caleche access dricet to the front door .
The Djemma el Fna is 15 minutes walk away through the souq with our sister property en route five minutes’ walk away – ideal for a stop for a been , cup of tea or a snack!
Courtyards and Terraces:
Traditional Riad design suggests a constant journey from light through shadow to light and from the noise of the city to the cool tranquility of fountains and shade . the design of the ksar entrance welcomes and comforts your and passes you into the light of the courtyards .
On the roof terrace we have wide selection of private areas for sundathing , reading , drinking and snaking; or just doing absolutely nothing , as well as the terrace bar & restaurant
Salons :
There are two salons , the summer salon , which is open is summer and in winter is open into the covered courtyard , and the night salon and bar which is designed as the hub of the Riad in winter and at night with a massive fire burning.

Pool , SPA & Hammam
We have a large (for a Riad) hearable pool which forms the centerpiece of the main courtyard.
The Spa & Hammam area offers all traditional Hammam and modern massage treatments and our treatment; rooms offer a wide range of beauty treatments.

By popular demand, we have no TV’s in the rooms to preserve the tranquility of the experience although , we do have iPod docks and USB internet connectors for guests , however by equally popular demand , we do have a private cinema with TV link for watching our extensive library of movies , old and new and even for making sure you(t miss tat vital match on TV !
We plan theme and club night-especially our regular Casablanca evening (feel free to dress accordingly, release your inner Bogart or Bergman ) , afternoon showings for kids .you can also book the room exclusively for that romantic night-in you keep promising yourselves ! Popcom and drinks!
