The owners
The owners are an English/Kuwaiti team led by Chris Gooding who has a day job as an international lawyer working predominantly over the last thirty years in the Middle East. The design and creation of dar and ksar have been labors of love driven by the boredom experienced by owners of waking up in the morning international hotels and having no idea from their surroundings in which country they are.
We have tried to combine the passion of true British “amateurs “with the rigorous professionalism that our combined experiences in project management; aviation engineering and law have taught us.
Every aspect of the design of the fabric aspect of the building has been designed by the owners has been designed by the owners and every piece of furniture and art in the hotel personally designed, mostly by Chris, or to his concept. As such we have an unequalled knowledge of the depth of talent available to designers , professional and amateur , in Marrakech and are happy to share our experience .
